Carpentier has been pursuing a clear growth strategy for two years: it intends to raise the proportion of exports significantly, without, however, taking too high a risk with this business.

The requirement

The company presented the exact requirement to Commerzbank. “We didn’t want to deal with the complex challenges of documentary business – and above all, avoid mistakes that could cause us serious damage,” said the Commercial Managing Director Stephan Boldt. Which is why he decided on the all-round support from Commerzbank concerning foreign business.

The solution

Commerzbank supported Carpentier Packaging GmbH in opening letters of credit, in particular with guarantee and letter of credit texts, as well as the possibility of confirming letters of credit.

The peculiarities of a letter of credit are primarily in the detail. Thanks to precise formulations, discrepancies with business partners can be avoided.

This advice has paid off for Carpentier: the company has produced its first machines for a customer in Turkey. Despatching the goods and receipt of payment went smoothly – in the end the order from Turkey contributed sales of over 500,000 euros to the coffers in Wörrstadt.
